About our meat
Attention to meat, especially its origin and the way animals are treated, has risen dramatically in recent years. The popularity of barbecues with larger pieces of meat has also contributed to this, but meat in relation to sustainability is also a hot topic. When I started Aalvink Meat Specialties years ago, I had a very clear idea of what I wanted to sell and why. But also which products I did not want to offer. No preventive antibiotics are used by farmers. Because we work on a small scale and our farmers do the same and do not supply the supermarket chains and therefore do not use the star system. We think it is more important that the animals have a good life. We are not skal certified and because of this we do not supply organic meat.
We are one of the few online butchers to supply fresh meat, excluding chicken and organ products due to bacteriological sensitivity.
Shipping
The postage per delivery is €7.99, this is the basic rate for delivery of packages up to 10 kilos incl. packaging and cooling (8.7 product, 1.3 packaging/cooling). From 10 to 30 kilos will be charged 14.99 euros. From 200 euro product, no shipping costs are charged.
Your order will be delivered by Trunkrs, a specialized delivery service that delivers to your home throughout the Netherlands and Flanders on your desired day (Tuesday to Friday) between 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Excluding the Wadden Islands. Need your order on Saturday. Then have it delivered on Thursday. In the unlikely event that something goes wrong with the order, there is still a run-out to delivery on Friday evening. There is no delivery on Saturdays. Everyone is doing their best. We and also the carrier. but we can never guarantee the date and time. Cancellations will not be accepted by us in that case.
In 99/100 cases, Trunkrs delivers on time. On rare occasions, your delicious food may still be delayed. Then there is no need to worry. Our packages are very well insulated and can remain without external cooling for a long time. Still, to ensure that your order remains safe and in good condition, your order will be placed in the Trunkrs freezer and reshipped the next business day (Mon-Fri). We currently deliver throughout the Netherlands and Flanders with the exception of the Wadden Islands. Different rates do apply for Flanders and the Netherlands.
Of course, there is always the option of picking up your order yourself. This has a number of advantages, but is of course only a suitable solution for people who work/live at a reasonable distance from our visited weekly markets. Webshop orders that you pick up yourself must be paid in advance.

Payments
Currently, we offer the option to pay via iDEAL, Bancontact, credit card and debit card. Ideal works with: ING, Triodos, ASN Bank, SNS Bank, RegioBank, ABN Amro, Rabobank, Van Lanschot Bankiers, Handelsbanken, Revolut, bunq and Knab. Credit/debit card with: Visa/Mastercard and Maestro.
All products sold in Belgium and the Netherlands are subject to VAT(Value Added Tax). Both Belgium and the Netherlands have a lower rate for food. VAT is already included in all prices on the website and can be found on your invoice. So there is no extra payment for it.
Did you get a great discount code from us or through our Newsletter? Then you can enter it at the bottom of your shopping cart. Below the products in your cart is the heading “Apply discount code. There you can enter the discount code and then you will see the discount immediately reflected in your shopping cart.
Packaging
The meat is vacuum packed per kilo and delivered fresh to your home except for organ meats and chicken products etc because they are more bacteriologically sensitive. Your order is delivered chilled and vacuumed in refrigerated boxes specially developed for Aalvink meat specialties. As a result, your order arrives at the right temperature. It is important, however, that you be at the delivery location at the time of delivery. If no answer, the carrier will ring your neighbor’s doorbell. If there are none, Trunkrs is instructed to store the package in the freezer and offer it again the next day. After all, these are products with a limited shelf life.
Your order will be delivered in a sturdy box with insulation and plenty of cooling elements. You can reuse these cool packs.
